ErrataBook.pdf

Week 1:
Extra handout (reading material): Copies from the Feynman Lectures Vol. III, chapter 1 (copy can be picked up in the hall next to room 140 in building 13). It is a very readable chapter that nicely discusses all the main concepts of quantum mechanics, illustrated by discussing in detail the double-slit experiment for bullets, waves and electrons.
The ideas from this handout are also nicely summerized in this youtube movie:

Week 4:
Extra study material: A summary on the role of the Fourier transform for quantum states (and better notation),
together with a list of page numbers where this topic is treated in the book (little pieces all over the place).
It is presented in this document: Handout on Fourier transforms .
(a shorter version is also at the last page
of StofoverzichtConcepts.pdf).
Extra handout (reading material): Copies from the book Quantum Mechanics by Cohen-Tannoudji (very good book for more solid background on the material that is presented in our book). The handout concerned the three appendices about:
1) Fourier transoforms
2) Dirac delta function
3) Langrangian and Hamiltonian classical mechanics
Copies can be picked up in the hall next to room 140 in building 13.
Week 7:
Extra handout (study material): Note by your lecturer (Caspar van der Wal) about identical particles and exchange degeneracy (to replace section 8.5 of the book if you like).
As an introduction to the derivation, it sets up a matrix notation for two-level systems.
Also available as pdf at this link (ExchangeNote.pdf) (version of 7 January 2009, earlier versions should not be used anymore!).
